A dermatologist with Optum in Mission Hills, California, Dr. Alma Dehdashti is the 2024 recipient of the Women in Medicine Top Dermatologist award. Dr. Alma Dehdashti has over a decade of experience as a dermatologist, helping patients of all ages, races, and ethnicities with diagnosis, treatment planning, procedures, and medical education.
Dr. Dehdashti performs various procedures, from biopsies and surgical excisions to treating disorders like acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, and skin cancers. Aside from skin-related conditions, she treats nail and hair conditions like nail fungus and alopecia.
A doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO), Dr. Alma Dehdashti obtained her medical degree in 2007 from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at Summa Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, followed by a three-year residency in dermatology at the same hospital. Aside from practicing dermatology, she is a clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Away from work, Dr. Dehdashti enjoys traveling, cooking, and trying new experiences. She is a PADI certified NITROX Scuba Diver and loves languages. She is also fluent in Farsi and is currently learning Russian, Spanish, Italian, German, and Japanese.
